Public transport
For bus transport in the Algarve we refer to: Eva bus transport. In addition, there are also a number of smaller lines. Information about this can be found on the website Algarve Bus and locally at the local bus stations of the larger towns, such as Tavira, Faro, Loulé, Albufeira, Lagos etc.
A train also runs through the Algarve from Lagos to Vila Real de Santo António v.v. Information about this can be found on the site of the Portuguese train Comboios de Portugal.
Topographic walking maps
The best topographic walking maps are: Carta Militar de Portugal from the Institutio geografico de Exercito. The blue series (the best for walking) has a scale of 1: 25000, the green 1: on 50000. In this way, the whole of Portugal is mapped on 610 topographic maps. You can order this maps online on the website of de Exercito or at the specialized travel book store Stanfords.
